Over 72,000 people have kept their jobs thanks to the 60/40 measure. This was announced by the Minister of Labor and Social Policy Denitsa Sacheva. The period during which the measure is in force is 13 working days.

At the same time, 80,000 new unemployed have registered with the Labor Offices since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis in Bulgaria. But at the same time, over 15,000 people have found a job.

She stressed that the 60/40 measure works for those business owners and businesses who want to retain their employees because they consider them to be their biggest capital. It is they who take the opportunity not to cut people off with the help of the state.

Most applications were submitted by the hotel and restaurant industry. They amount to a total of 48.5%.

At the same time, the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy is currently working on a new measure with funds from the Operational Program “Human Resources Development”.

It is worth about BGN 150 million. These funds will cover 40% of the minimum wage and social security benefits for the sectors most directly affected by the crisis and the measures introduced in the state of emergency in Bulgaria.
