The additional session of the National Assembly failed. Deputies from GERB’s ruling coalition and the United Patriots did not show up for work.

Two quorum attempts were made. 78 deputies registered in both of them. However, in order for a parliamentary session to take place, more than half of the MPs must be in the plenary hall.

The extraordinary sitting of the National Assembly was convened at 09:00 today at the request of the Bulgarian Socialist Party. From there, they demanded an update of the state budget because of COVID-19.

In addition, the BSP wanted Prime Minister Boyko Borissov to be heard about the violence against protesters and journalists during the GERB national conference in Sofia. On this issue, the Socialists insisted on hearing the position of Interior Minister Hristo Terziiski.

This morning, lawmakers were greeted by protesters who pelted parliament with eggs. Some of them also carried tomatoes. The front door window was also hit.

Calls for egg-laying were made yesterday by organizers of the Poison Trio.
