The anti-epidemic measure of wearing a mask or other means that covers the nose and mouth in open public places comes into force today. According to the text, when people gather and are unable to keep a physical distance of 1.5 meters, everyone should wear something covering the nose and mouth such as a mask, towel, scarf, helmet, and suchlike.

Exceptions are also provided for customers in restaurants and drinking establishments, for indoor and outdoor athletes, for participants in congress and conference events and during their speeches, as well as for presenters and guests in TV shows. Outdoor masks are not mandatory for children under 6 years of age.

The order of the Minister of Health Prof. Kostadin Angelov envisages the persons providing administrative and other services to citizens, if possible to provide the relevant services in an electronic environment. You can read the full text HERE.

We remind you that a few days ago Prof. Angelov announced that outdoor masks will be mandatory. A day later, a U-turn was made and Prime Minister Boyko Borissov clarified that protection would only be in certain cases – a move that angered many people. Citizens commented that initially the health minister played the role of the „bad cop“ by announcing the „bad news„, and shortly afterwards the prime minister was the „good one“ who still found a „way out of the situation„. Critics even recognized the next election move.
