There are 24 more new cases of COVID-19 in Bulgaria, two people died on Sunday

The new proven cases of COVID-19 in Bulgaria for the last 24 hours are 24. Their small number is not proof that this is the end of the epidemic, explained Prof. Todor Kantardzhiev. Yesterday the specialists tested 4.5 less materialsonly 362, because it was Sunday.

Out of the total number of new cases – 14 are from Sofia, 5 from Blagoevgrad, two from Pazardzhik and Yambol, and one from Plovdiv. There are no new cases in Vidin and Veliko Tarnovo.

The total number of COVID-19 patients in the country is now 2235. This is an increase of 1.1%. The active cases are 1513.

There are 242 infected medical professionals, which is 11% of the total number of infected patients. As of Sunday, there are 2 new cases – a doctor from Plovdiv, and a hospital attendant from Pirogov Emergency Hospital.

There are 612 cases of successfully recovered patients. 110 people died. Two patients lost the battle for their lives on Sunday – a 77-year-old man suffering from ileus – intestinal obstruction, coronary heart disease and hypertension. The second who died was a 69-year-old man from Petrich with acute respiratory failure, who underwent surgery for a brain tumor.

The cases from Sofia city and Sofia region are 945, from Pleven – 208, from Vidin – 179, from Blagoevgrad – 116, from Yambol – 102 patients.
