„I am opposed to the measures with orders, but if the hospitals become exhausted, we will impose restrictions,“ the prime minister added, adding that vaccination should continue actively. There are currently over 100,000 doses of vaccines in the country, which allows immunization of 15,000-20,000 people a day. The prime minister reminded:

“Regional health inspectorates must apply strict control, and regional headquarters have every right to close restaurants, schools, kindergartens, to stop organized excursions and any risky activities.”

After yesterday’s meeting of the Minister of Health with the directories of the RHIs in the country, the alarming situation in 9 districts in our country was reported.

“In this regard, with colleagues from these areas, we commented on the decision to introduce additional anti-epidemic measures to lead to the outcome and control of the disease in these areas”, said Angelov and pointed out the biggest problem so far – the rapid filling of hospitals. beds.

According to the Chief State Health Inspector Assoc. Prof. Dr. MD Angel Kunchev, however, the measures must be as sparing as possible for the economy and the social system, but at the same time not allow to reach the peak of the morbidity, which will bring the health system to its knees.

National Operational Headquarters chairman and MMA chief Ventsislav Mutafchiiski also voiced concerns about the depletion of hospital beds. According to him, in addition to showing the incidence, the increase in mortality is worrying.

The work of all vaccination offices will start on Thursday through those who have registered in the electronic system. The executive director of the Executive Agency for Medicines, Bogdan Kirilov, said that there are regular deliveries of vaccines in Bulgaria. The total confirmed amount for March is 300,000 doses and confirmation of another 200,000 doses of vaccines is expected.

“We already have indicative quantities for April. For the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, there is an increase of more than 2 times the expected deliveries for April – about 250,000 doses. For the Moderna vaccine – over 80,000 doses and we expect confirmation of the AstraZeneca vaccine”, Kirilov added.
