Today, at the Anti-corruption Parliamentary Commission, the deputies heard the chief prosecutor Ivan Geshev on the case of the examination of the photos with bars and bundles in Boyko Borisov’s bedroom. According to the „Movement for Rights and Freedoms“, this topic did not involve hearing accuser #1, so the parties left the meeting.

GERB requested the dissolution of the Commission due to the initially incorrect procedure for convening it.

Before the people’s representatives started their procedural dispute, Geshev announced that he had received an invitation to the hearing yesterday at 16:00. He claims he was told to gather certain information within an hour. The data in question had already been made public in press releases of the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office. In the last 2 years, there has been continuous communication between the Bulgarian prosecutor’s office and the European institutions. Everything on the subject, which the law allows, was told to the MEPs both in personal meetings in Sofia and Brussels, and through online communication.

Before the start of the commission’s meeting, Geshev emphasized that he stands before the deputies, although he is not obliged to do so.
