Two more COVID-19 death cases in Bulgaria

There are 16 new coronavirus cases in Bulgaria, bringing the total number of infected people in the country to 1097, according to information provided by the National Operational Headquarters during the regular virus briefing. In the city of Vidin, there are 8 new cases, in Kuystendil 1, and 1 in the regions of Blagoevgrad, Yambol, and Vratsa respectively.

The number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients is 270, 37 of which are admitted to intensive care units.

There are 95 coronavirus cases among the medical workers in the country.

In terms of gender distribution as of April 23, 551 of all COVID-19 patients are men and 546 women.

As of April 23 at 17:00 local time, the geographical distribution of the coronavirus cases according to information provided by the National Operations Headquarters is as follows:  Blagoevgrad – 23; Burgas – 42; Varna – 26; Veliko Tarnovo – 16; Vidin – 40; Vratsa – 3; Gabrovo – 4; Dobrich – 13; Kardzhali – 13; Kyustendil – 35; Lovech – 2; Montana – 18; Pazardzhik – 21; Pernik – 9; Pleven – 67; Plovdiv – 42; Ruse – 7; Silistra – 3; Sliven – 30; Smolyan – 33; Sofia – 594; Stara Zagora – 32; Haskovo – 15; Shumen – 4, and Yambol – 5.

The number of fatal cases related to COVID-19 is 52.

There are two new death cases in the country according to the National Operations Headquarters. One of them is a 71-years-old man suffering from acute kidney failure, ischemic heart disease, and bilateral pneumonia. The man was placed on artificial breathing. The other case is of an 85-years-old woman suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes, and pneumonia.
