All families with children regardless of their parents’ income – to receive monthly child benefits. This will be included in the budget for 2021, announced the Prime Minister Boyko Borissov in his profile on the social network Facebook after today’s government meeting.
Families with one child will receive BGN 40 each, those with two children – BGN 90, and those with three – BGN 135. The aid will cover 1,200,000 children and will expand support for all parents in Bulgaria during a pandemic, Borissov wrote.
The government has extended the deadline for paying compensation to employers for maintaining employment from October 1 to December 31, 2020.
The Prime Minister wrote:
“All companies affected by the crisis can count on our support, and we have provided BGN 450 million for it from the Unemployment Fund. The compensations will amount to 60% of the insurance income and 60% of the insurance contributions due by the employer for August 2020. So far, the 60/40 measure works perfectly, we have saved over 300,000 jobs, and with its new design we will have helped a total of 500,000 people.”
According to Borissov, only with active support for business will the low levels of unemployment in our country be maintained.
“It is extremely important for us that Bulgarian citizens to be calm so they have a job and a livelihood”, said Boyko Borissov.
The news about the financial injection for the parents comes a few days after it became clear that all retirees will receive an additional BGN 50 by March. Here, however, the important question arises how during the crisis caused by COVID-19, funds were found to give supplements of BGN 50 every month to all retirees, no matter how much they take, and before that only for Christmas and Easter. for those with the lowest pensions.
