Police and BFSA operation in Plovdiv: Closed establishments and acts for offenders

Officers of the police, RHI and the Plovdiv Food Safety Agency are conducting a joint operation in the city under the hills. The aim is to check whether the establishments and their customers comply with the measures against the new coronavirus, Nova television informed.

The inspections started from the heart of Plovdiv – „Kapana“, and so far 2 sites have been closed due to non-compliance with the measures.

The head of the Economic Police Sector in Plovdiv Georgi Kazakov clarified that commercial sites, restaurants, drinking establishments and coffee aperitifs will be inspected, and compliance with the measures set out in the orders of the Minister of Health will be monitored.

We monitor whether the ban on customers in closed establishments is observed, whether the physical distance is observed, as well as whether the staff of the establishments wear masks.“

97 sites have been inspected so far, and the most common violations were for not wearing protective masks by staff. According to Kazakov, acts have been drawn up against the offenders.

Krassimira Krampotich from RHI-Plovdiv explained that wearing protective masks is important in order not to spread the infection among customers who are not obliged to wear a protective mask outdoors. According to her, it is important that the tables and chairs are disinfected after each client.

Dr. Nikolay Petkov from RFSD – Plovdiv explained that the role of the Agency is to monitor whether food products in restaurants are safe. He clarified that no violations have been identified so far.
