Municipal elections are being held in the municipalities of Maglizh and Banite. The partial vote came after the current mayors died. Three candidates are running for mayor of Maglizh municipality. About 10,000 people have the right to vote to determine who will take the post. Voters can vote in a total of 15 polling stations.

The by-elections for mayor are a kind of dress rehearsal for the parliamentary vote. It is expected that it will be carried out in the conditions of an epidemic situation. Each voter will receive a pen before going to the dark room. He votes with her and then he can keep it or throw it away. Apart from the health of the people with the distribution of chemicals, the local administration has also dealt with the problem of the color when voting is the same.

Election day started exactly at 07:00 and will continue at 20:00. The oldest voter is a woman who will turn 101 on March 3. Today she will not be able to vote because she is with her relatives in Stara Zagora. And the youngest voter is from the village of Tulovo, who turned 18 days ago.

There are also three candidates for mayor of Banite Municipality in the by-elections. The vote in Banite Municipality was scheduled after the death of the previous mayor Milen Belchev. 3 599 are the voters on the electoral list. They will vote in 16 sectional election commissions. 12 PEC members received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. There is a mobile polling station for people with limited mobility and the sick. The chairman of the MEC-Banite Mitko Ognyanov commented:

“Currently we do not have COVID patients in the municipality, so this problem does not bother us. We do not have such registered and we observe the general measures, which are in an epidemic situation.”
