Urgent measures are needed to restore the present education in our country. This was announced by „Democratic Bulgaria“ party during the negotiations for forming a government in the Education sector, which are currently underway.

The DB also announced:

The education system should work for happy students who enjoy going to school. There they should be greeted by some motivated teachers, and during this time the parents should be reassured that the children are getting the best and will be successful. We have 10 points in this regard. The most serious problem is the pandemic, the conditions under which this pandemic has put us and the ongoing online learning.“

They stressed that online learning has been going on for 2 years now and this is interrupting the process. In addition, there are serious deficits in the motivation of students and in their environment, which is no longer real. This is in mental health and socialization.

According to “Democratic Bulgaria” party, measures to return students to class may include wearing masks and a campaign to vaccinate older students.

The DB emphasized that the problem a particular problem with the students, who have to have practical classes, but currently do not have any.

Imagine that in 6 months drivers will get out of the car and drive the public transport. Not to mention higher education. Last but not least, there are deficits that need to be identified as student deficits.„, they said.

According to the DB, an individual program should be made for each student and he should start overcoming his deficits, because otherwise he will graduate, but no employer will want to hire him. The coalition also announced a reform of the education system and set an example by saying that 90% of children between the ages of 0 and 3 are not covered by it. The second is that the system remains permanently unreformed and structural reform is needed.

They also talked about the permanent underfunding of the system, giving an example that a student in Bulgaria costs BGN 2,000, and in the UK it costs BGN 15,000. Therefore, the DB set some parameters that I believe that almost everyone will agree with them and we believe that it should be linked to GDP and 4% should go to secondary education, 1% to higher education and 1% to science.
