The ongoing protests are the immune response of the Bulgarian pubic against Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, said Chairwoman of the civil platform “Izpravise.bg” Maya Manolova

He is falling apart and he is afraid of evaluation of his cabinet. Let’s not forget the pictures of the gold bricks and money stacks in his nightstand,” said Manolova.

The civil platform “Izpravi.se” stands behind all four demands made by the protesters, she said, adding that the organization came up with its own demands – complete and thorough evaluation and revision of PM Borissov’s cabinet, incl. of all state institutions, oligarchic deals, and of economic activities of Borissov’s business “friends”. Reliable environmental protection without importing of wastes is another key point of “Izpravise.bg”.

In regards to Delyan Peevski, Malinova said he is one of the oligarchs allowed by the Prime Minister to “feast on the nation” together with Domsuchiev, “the kitties, “the eaglets”, and Kovachki. She claimed it was Borissov who put power in the hands of Peevski.

“People’s anger is behind the protests. They are in the streets for turning the nation into pray for Borssiov and his closest friends. The people who were in the streets for five straight days demand what we couldn’t achieve for more than 30 years now – strength through unity. The true parliament and MPs are the people in front of the Parliament. They deserve a chance to change Bulgaria. The people in the squares are the future MPs of Bulgaria who can deliver the so dearly desired change. These are the future ministers of Bulgaria and our faith should be in their hands. The protest is the immune response of the Bulgarian public against the disease called “Borissov,” she said.

Political leaders should refuse to build coalitions with Borssisov after the elections and should not allow him to take charge once again, said Manolova. She said the protests were a pure public reaction without any political interference and their leaders are civil figures with no political background. Party leaders should keep their hands off the protests, she said.

“As he falls down, Borssiov will try to take down everybody else with him. I already filed a lawsuit for defamation during the last local elections and we were supposed to meet in court. Seven months later, however, the lawsuit is still being delayed because of his political position. His economically strong acquaintances like Domsuchiev managed to quickly trigger a lawsuit for 50 000 leva against the chairwoman of the organization that led the protests for clean air in Peshtera and the case is already in court. Thre is justice for the political and economic elite, but for normal people like Zlatka Tsveeva from Pesthera it is quite unlikely to be any”, said Manolova.
