Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Krassimir Karakachanov admitted that the order for vaccination in Sandanski was violated. As Iskra.bg informed you, municipal councilors have set the drug in violation of the rules, because at the moment only first-line medics in the fight against the coronavirus are immunized.
Karakachanov said he did not approve if a municipal councilor somewhere in the country or a senior official, minister or MP rearranged the others and got vaccinated, taking advantage of his official position.
The Deputy Prime Minister also commented that he could have prevented himself and been vaccinated at the Military Medical Academy, for example, but he did not do so. He would wait his turn until the summer or autumn, when there would be preparations for the mass immunization of Bulgarian citizens. Karakachanov stressed that the Minister of Health has launched an investigation into the case and the results should be awaited. He was adamant that if municipal councilors violated the order, they should receive the most severe sanctions for it.
According to Karakachanov, however, the case was not a matter of reorganization, and members of the local parliament were invited to be vaccinated.
In any way, the scandalous case in Sandanski has developed, the society expects to be punished, because this leads to a loss of confidence in the whole process of immunization against COVID-19 in Bulgaria.
Karakachanov also commented on relations with the Republic of Northern Macedonia, saying that politicians there have begun to read the decisions of the Bulgarian parliament. However, while in history textbooks Bulgarians were defined as fascists, occupiers, Tatars, etc., there could be no conversation.
