“This is not about a deal, about what is most useful for Bulgaria. The proposal to cancel the derogation is impossible”, Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov told journalists in Blagoevgrad on the derogation of Russian oil imports and Lukoil’s obligations to the treasury. In his words, this means that the refinery will have no oil in 10-15 days when stocks and reserves are exhausted. Denkov added:

“It is realistic and sensible to collect Lukoil’s excess profits from the difference in prices of the two types of oil,“ the prime minister added. According to him, there is a big difference between a refinery being able to operate with different oil and having it different oil. The different oil is secured with long-term contracts, months of negotiations are required. That was the main reason for the derogation to be done in stages.”

He explained that Lukoil is expected to comply with the laws. By the end of the year, all the money from taxes should have been paid in, it is important that this money goes into the budget in the right way, from there is a fund that says how these funds should be used.

Regarding the government, Nikolay Denkov assessed that the government is implementing its government program.
