Sooner or later, the confrontation between the President and the Prime minister would happen, because both have functions in society and in politics they cannot exist as connected vessels. This was commented by Associate Professor Alexander Hristov from the Center for Analysis and Crisis Communications. According to him, they need to act separately in order to be able to identify themselves, to be able to identify themselves and be successful.

Given the division in society for or against military aid to Ukraine, which is related to the generally existing mood in society – Russophile and Russophobic, contributed to a rift in trust and support between the president and government, but ultimately such opposition to political forces defending one position or another happened too late.”

Associate Professor Hristov is of the opinion that both sides should have taken clear positions. He thinks they have been delayed too long.

„We are in such a situation that it is very difficult to make things happen by playing around and avoiding responsibility. It happened late enough for me.

Currently, President Rumen Radev is the politician with the highest rating in our country, according to the latest opinion polls. As a result, support for him could easily spill over into the party.

Most likely / he overflow of votes/ to the party of Stefan Yanev, to the formation of Maya Manolova, which legitimizes itself in the public space. Most likely, some of the votes will go to “Vazrazhdane”. These are political forces that are robbing such a negative vote, which is a bit pro-Russophile, a bit more anti-what is happening at the moment as a government and so on. I think that the role of the president in this case is overestimated, because in the end the voters vote for certain political forces and even if a person like him stands behind a certain political force, there is no guarantee that automatically people holding these positions would have recognized.“, added the associate professor.

Currently, the left and the right in our country are extremely fragmented, commented Assoc. Prof. Hristov and added that it is not profitable for anyone to have early elections at the moment.
