The number of volunteers in Alexandrovska hospital grows on daily basis. Alexandrovska is among the hospitals in Sofia where patients infected with coronavirus are treated. Over the past days, it has been registering an increasing number of people willing to help in the fight against the outbreak.

Among the first volunteers is Svetoslav Slavchev MD. He said in an interview for the national radio that the number of volunteers is currently 77 people, consisting of medical graduates, nurses and other medical staff. According to him, they are all united under the common mission of putting the situation under control as fast as possible.

Slavchev further explained that the hospital is accepting donations and that it currently has sufficient medical supplies.

The Bulgarian Ophthalmologically Association is also engaged in raising funds for the hospital.

Attorney Krasimir Nedev is another volunteer in the fight against the outbreak. He commented that there is very little information regarding the volunteering process.

According to him, people who want to volunteer need to be of legal age, to be in good medical condition and to be carefully selected and well informed. Thus, the volunteering help would be in compliance with the law.
