No formation can protect the elections alone, commented Voyslav Todorov from the civil platform „Stand Up.BG“ and he added that because of this they support joint actions of all non-parliamentary parties that are against the status quo.

We are working to gather volunteers for fair elections. In 2 months, the civil platform „Stand Up.BG“ has gathered over 50% of the necessary volunteers for advocates and observers.“, Todorov told “DarikNews”.

So far, more than 6,000 applications for volunteers fighting for fair elections have been received in the offices of the civil platform and online, he added. Talks with the “Poison Trio”, Democratic Bulgaria and Slavi Trifonov’s party continue. Todorov believes that a decision will be reached to protect the elections together. According to him, the voters in our country rely on this and it should be done. He is adamant that in the remaining just over 2 months until election day, „Stand Up.BG“ will be ready to cover all 12,000 sections in the country.

Anyone wishing to enroll as a volunteer for fair elections can do so on the website of „Stand Up.BG“ in the platform „Volunteers for Fair Elections“, through the Facebook pages of the platform and on site in the offices of „Stand Up .BG ”in the country, Todorov stressed.

When asked about machine voting, he said that machine voting can prevent much of the electoral manipulation.

From “Stand Up.BG „we have prepared questions to the CEC about the technical parameters of the machines and how they will guarantee the fairness of the vote. For example, how the data will be transferred from the machine to the census centers.“, Todorov explained and added that they support remote voting, postal voting and have submitted a proposal for changes to the Electoral Code for the establishment of multi-member constituencies abroad.

Yesterday, „Stand Up.BG“ announced that 52% of the required observers and volunteers for the elections had been recruited. Burgas district is almost entirely covered by volunteers – 728 people have been registered for 739 sections in the multi-member region. Nearly 1,000 applications have been received for Sofia in about 1,600 sections for the three multi-member constituencies in the capital. Blagoevgrad, Vidin, Vratsa, Dobrich, Pazardzhik, Pleven, Ruse, Silistra and Sliven are the multi-member districts in which between 50% and 90% of the volunteers needed for the sectional election commissions have been recruited. For Varna, Plovdiv and Sofia, the recruitment of volunteers and observers continues.
