A 43-year-old man and a 83-year-old woman – the new victims of COVID-19 in Bulgaria

The proven cases of COVID-19 in Bulgaria are now 2023. This is shown by the latest data of the National Operational Headquarters at 5 pm o’clock on May 12. 19 more new cases have been proven today in the following regions: 3 in Blagoevgrad, 3 in Pernik, and 13 in Sofia.

The patients with proven COVID-19 who are hospitalized are 365. 51 of them are being treated in intensive care units and clinics.

The medical professionals with confirmed coronavirus infection are 218, accounting for 11% of all identified cases of COVID-19.

In terms of the overall picture: 981 of the registered cases of COVID-19 in Bulgaria are of men, and 1042 of women. The average age of the people diagnosed with coronavirus infection is 50 years.

A total of 95 people have died from proven COVID-19. A 43-year-old man suffering from DIC syndrome and diabetes died at the Regional hospital in Pazardzhik. An 83-year-old woman from the nursing home based in the village of Gara Oreshets died too at the Multiprofile Hospital in Vratsa. The patient had suffered a malignant disease and a stroke.
