As Iskra.bg earlier informed you, threats were again made by the government against a representative of “Vazrazhdane” political party. It is about Stoyan Taslakov, who is a candidate for MP for the region of Plovdiv. He was threatened by the driver of Stamboliyski’s mayor, Anton Popov. According to previous publications in various media, Popov is close to Mayor Georgi Maradzhiev.
Iskra.bg has made repeated attempts to contact Mayor Maradzhiev in order to find out if he is aware of what happened, who is the person behind the threats, and whether he will take any action against his ward Anton Popov. Maradzhiev did not answer his mobile phone, so we could not ask him these and other important questions about the scandalous case.
Stoyan Taslakov managed to capture the threats. It is clear from the video how he was warned that all his teeth would be knocked out. Taslakov told Iskra.bg that he did not know Anton Popov. The driver went in front of his house in Stamboliyski and inspected it. Taslakov was on the terrace at the time. Anton Popov called him down and started threatening him.
„This is the first time I’ve met and talked to him but I know who is visually from the city. He came in front of my house and looked around. The local mayor is worried when someone posts on social media or websites that somehow show poor management or bad repairs. I have several such publications last summer. They made a project for landscaping of all parks in Stamboliyski. The name itself should mean that trees and grasses will be sown. Yes but actually no. They concreted more than half of the area in these parks. It’s all concrete and it hasn’t turned very green. When I started shooting these videos, then the checks started. Almost every day, municipal officials began to come, to inspect my house, to look for me.“, Taslakov said.
The Мunicipality is looking for whether there is illegal construction in Taslakov’s house. The inspections have not yet started on the merits, because he was abroad. The interesting thing in this case is that Taslakov did not build, but bought the house in its current form from elderly people.
„They just wanted to intimidate me with these checks, but since I didn’t succumb they decided they had to send me this gentleman.“
Taslakov knew the mayor of Stamboliyski Maradzhiev and talked to him when they met. When asked by Iskra.bg whether the mayor sent his driver to Taslakov, he answered:
„Definitely. This driver does nothing without being ordered. He is an employee. That’s how they work. I am not the first person in Stamboliyski. One month ago, a boy had all the windows of a car repair shop broken for just one post. Two people had their two cars set on fire two years ago for a publication. Only such people are harmed – who write things that the mayor does not like. There are no random things in Stamboliyski. Everything is controlled and there is a person in the Мunicipality who does nothing else. In the morning he checks the social networks, the groups in Stamboliyski, what news has been written.“
