Arman Babikyan and Nikolay Hadjigenov spread a position to the media stating that the We Are Coming movement is addressing Prime Minister Kiril Petkov and the coalition partners of the ruling majority, with a clear request for the release of Defense Minister Stefan Yanev. They said:

Considering the significant contribution to the management balance and stability provided by Mr. Yanev in his capacity as caretaker Prime Minister, we realize that at today’s critical moment for the country he cannot and fails to protect our national interests.

In all NATO documents that we have approved as a country, what is happening in Ukraine and the invasion of Russian troops are defined as war. We consider the use of diplomatic euphemisms in the conditions of an aggressive attack, which is taking place in front of the eyes of the whole world, to be offensive to the intellect of the Bulgarian society, Babikyan and Hadjigenov point out. According to them, we accept the compulsive reluctance to send military supplies to a defending Ukraine as a lack of solidarity and a refusal to defend democracy at a time when „our Orthodox brothers are being subjected to death and destruction.“

The characterization of the Allied troops as troops of a foreign state, which will be deployed in Bulgaria if necessary, shows a complete misunderstanding of both our commitments in NATO and the capabilities of Bulgarian national security and defense.

Hadjigenov and Babikyan emphasize that their request should not be taken as a desire for imbalance in the ruling coalition and an attack on the government, but according to them, due to lack of reaction, our country is unprotected and will pay the price of sanctions. We are convinced that Bulgaria cannot afford such a risky policy against the price of a ministerial post, added „We are coming!“.
