The confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Bulgaria are now 1024. This is shown by the latest data from the National Operational Headquarters, quoted by the Ministry of Health. Nine more new cases have been proved today – 3 in the region of Sofia, 2 in the region of Plovdiv, 2 in the region of Kyustendil, 1 in the region of Pazardzhik, and 1 in the region of Pernik. The labs are still working.

262 individuals infected with COVID-19 have been hospitalized under medical supervision. 37 of them have been treated in intensive care units and clinics. 83 members of the medical staff have proved to be infected with Covid -19.

In terms of the overall picture – as of April 22: 522 of the COVID-19 cases registered in our country have been found in men, and 502 in women.

The registered cases by reference provided by the National Operational Headquarters are in the areas as follows: Blagoevgrad – 22; Burgas – 41; Varna – 25; Veliko Tarnovo – 11; Vidin – 27; Vratsa – 2; Gabrovo – 4; Dobrich – 13; Kardzhali – 13; Kyustendil – 28; Lovech – 2; Montana – 18; Pazardzhik – 18; Pernik – 9; Pleven – 54; Plovdiv – 40; Ruse – 7; Silistra – 2; Sliven – 25; Smolyan – 33; Sofia – 575; Stara Zagora – 32; Haskovo – 15; Shumen – 4, Yambol – 4.

The deaths of COVID-19 are 49. There are two new deaths, according to the National Operational Headquarters. An 87-year-old woman suffering from acute kidney failure, acute respiratory failure and arterial hypertension died earlier today at the Military Medical Academy. The patient was placed on a ventilator. A 53-year-old man suffering from respiratory disease died at the regional hospital in Smolyan.
