The United Tourism Industry continues to protest against the return of the 20% VAT rate for the restaurant sector, which puts it at a disadvantage compared to the countries we compete with in tourism.
The next destination is Veliko Tarnovo, where there will be a protest concert. The event will take place at 16:00 on Tuesday /15 April/ in front of the Konstantin Kisimov MDT.

Support us, because you are our biggest incentive and motivation!”, write the organizers from the Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association, the Association of Restaurants in Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Association of Restaurants.
The industry continues to seek a dialogue with the leadership of the coalition council to co-manage the adoption of the best possible solutions in the interests of Bulgarian tourism and economy.

The extreme measure comes as a result of numerous calls from the restaurant industry to the representatives of the ruling majority, for a meeting to discuss proposals to increase collection, as well as our arguments for maintaining the 9% tax for restaurant customers.
Businesses have repeatedly stated that the increase in VAT will lead to bankruptcies, closures, reduced turnover, redundancy of invaluable staff, processes which have already begun!
And in the end, the revenue planned in the state budget will not be realized.
Our country is the only country in the EU that develops tourism and does not have a reduced rate for the restaurant sector.
