During the July 3 operation of the Special Prosecutor’s Office related to the pre-trial proceedings against the organised criminal group (OCG) for committing extortion, murder and other serious crimes, led by the accused Vasil Bojkov, at the address in the capital’s Simeonovo district, were found photos and profiles that contain personal data of magistrates, members of their families, as well as a photo of a senior official in the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The profiles of the magistrates who were involved in the investigations against Bojkov contain both their personal data – home addresses, telephone numbers used, etc., as well as detailed information about their family members, including minors. One of the profiles contains instructions for filming a magistrate, as well as for tracking a member of his family. Another profile states that the magistrate’s address was established by “technical means”.

Printed publications with identical content were found at the address in Simeonovo (for an inspection of the companies with a gambling activity ordered by the Minister of Finance), in 6 information sites – “Dnevnik”, “Frognews”, “Glasove”, “Topnovini”, “Press TV” and “Liberta”.

An unsigned copy of a decree from a prosecutor at the Sofia District Prosecutor’s Office from 2018 for refusing to initiate pre-trial proceedings was found and seized. The file was opened on a signal from the Ministry of Economy, containing data on crimes related to the misuse of European funds. In the course of the inspection, employees of the Ministry of Economy were interrogated, as well as Liliana Deyanova, in her capacity as a manager of a company, Asya Yocheva, in her capacity as a representative of a company, Alexander Angelov, in his capacity as a manager and partner in company. An immediate investigation into the case was ordered regarding the found copy.

During the search of another address in the capital, used by a security company, documents related to the subject of proving the case, computer configurations, as well as a large amount of money of unknown origin were seized.

A high-risk narcotic substance, divided into doses, was found in a house in Sandanski.

After analysing the evidence gathered, the supervising prosecutors assessed that there were grounds for prosecuting two persons for participating in an OCG led by Bojkov. With the prosecutor’s decision Sl.M. and V.B. were detained for up to 72 hours. On July 5, 2020, the

Specialised Prosecutor’s Office will submit to the Specialised Criminal Court a request for a measure of restraint “Detention in custody” for each of them.
