The new cases of COVID-19 in Bulgaria are 24, two people died in the last 24 hours

The new proven cases of COVID-19 in Bulgaria for the last 24 hours are 24. 10 of them have been admitted to hospitals, announced the Chief State Health Inspector – Assoc. Prof. Dr., MD. Angel Kunchev during the regular morning briefing of the National Operational Headquarters.

874 people were tested. The active areas are 5. The total number of patients in the country since the beginning of the pandemic is 2259 people. This is an increase of 1.1%.

Out of the total number of new cases – 16 are from Sofia, 4 in Yambol, 2 in Sliven, and one each in Kyustendil and Pazardzhik.

Currently, there are 299 hospitalized patients in the country, with 36 of them being intubated.

There are 242 infected medical professionals. Two more new cases were identified on Monday – a doctor from Sofia and a nurse from Yambol.

There are 646 cases of successfully recovered patients. 112 people died. Two patients lost the battle for their lives on Monday – a 79-year-old man who died at „St. Anna“ Hospital, and a 93-year-old woman who died at Lom Hospital. She was living in the nursing home in the town of Kula, suffering from chronic obstructive heart disease and hypertension.
