The government provides BGN 610 monthly allowance for children of working parents. The funds will be allocated during a state of emergency or epidemic. This was announced by the Prime Minister Boiko Borisov in his profile on the social network Facebook.
Parents who cannot work remotely from home and do not have the opportunity for paid annual leave will be able to count on the help.
“For the implementation of the new measure to deal with the consequences of COVID-19, we provide BGN 20 million per month. In times of unprecedented trials like the coronavirus pandemic, this is a good solution for working parents”, the prime minister wrote.
Yesterday, during a meeting with the Parents Association, the Minister of Labor and Social Policy Denitsa Sacheva said that options are being sought to support families whose children will be placed under mandatory quarantine next school year due to cases of COVID-19.
In addition, various ways of providing monthly benefits for children are being discussed. One of them is under the program „Parents in employment“. Vouchers are issued on it, with which the parents can hire a babysitter of their choice so that they can go to work.
In addition to aid for children, the government has decided to strengthen the Emergency Aid in our country with 42 new high-speed ambulances with life-saving equipment.
“With BGN 2.4 million we provide state-of-the-art multifunctional equipment for Pirogov’s traumatology, which will facilitate the work of doctors and give them the opportunity for faster and even better quality diagnostics. The Mother’s Home also receives support of BGN 2 million for the robotic system „Da Vinci“ for bloodless surgical interventions. We also allocate BGN 8.66 million for strengthening the infectious units in the military hospitals in Sofia and Sliven, as well as for purchasing important medical equipment. With all these actions we upgrade the health system. These are important decisions for the benefit of all Bulgarian citizens”, Prime Minister Borisov wrote on his Facebook account.
