The Bulgarian Association of Establishments and the Association of Restaurants in Bulgaria strongly support the position of The Association of Bulgarian Employers’ Organizations (AOBE) regarding the sharp increase in the price of electricity.
„Not only has any support for business disappeared in recent months in the face of a pandemic, that the business environment is being undermined on a daily basis with threats of closure, but now we are also hit by electricity prices. There are very real cases of companies that have signed long-term contracts with energy distribution companies, which raise prices only through notification e-mail. Maybe this is a preparation for a future closure – entrepreneurs in the sector would prefer not to work instead of paying space new electricity prices. The situation is beginning to be reminiscent of 1997, when inflation was minute-by-minute and product prices changed several times a day.„, the two associations said in a common position.
All this is happening either with the tacit consent of the responsible state bodies, or because of their incompetence, or even worse – with their blessing, the Bulgarian Association of Establishments and the Association of Restaurants in Bulgaria pointed out.
„We will not list again the exclusively expert arguments presented in the letter of the colleagues from the Association of Bulgarian Employers’ Organizations (AOBE) to the caretaker Prime Minister. We will only say what we feel on our backs – a drastic increase in the price of electricity, which in these difficult times makes the survival of many of us almost impossible.“
Both organizations are calling for measures to be taken, otherwise protests will be staged to protect the interests of the thousands affected by the inadequate government policy that has led to the drastic increase in electricity.
