The BSP will return the mandate to President Rumen Radev as unfulfilled. This was announced during an extraordinary briefing by the party.

The Socialists’ decision came after the majority of MPs rejected their program in the plenary hall. It was supposed to be the foundation on which to step the next cabinet within the current Parliament.

What happened today was a test of Bulgarian society, who is on which side of this, as we called it, the „dividing line“ of people and parties who want to fight corruption and those who want to protect corruption – who is on which side. What we did in the last weeks was to develop a program developed by the three parties, including the proposals of „There is Such a People“ /TISP/,  in which program was clearly written the election of the Chairman of the Commission for Combating Corruption and Confiscation of Illegally Acquired Assets Boyko Rashkov, the adoption of the Anti-Corruption Act and the situation with the Chairman of the State Agency of Energy Regulation, namely the election of the Chairman of the State Agency of Energy Regulation by 12 August„, Georgi Svilensky explained.

According to him, the danger facing the country from today onwards is the responsibility of those who did not support Bulgaria to have a functioning parliament and a functioning government.

According to the instructions of Desislava Atanasova and Yordan Tsonev, together the parliamentary groups of „There is Such a People“, the MRF and „Vazrazhdane“ sabotaged and removed from the program of the parliament precisely the legislative program proposed by the parliamentary group of the BSP. It became clear to all of us, and to the Bulgarian citizens that „Vazrazhdane“ is a crutch of GERB, and TISP – of the MRF. It became clear that from the first day that TISP expressed their willingness for talks, it was all hypocritical behavior and they never intended for Bulgaria to have a government and a working majority. In this situation and according to the decision of our National Council, tomorrow we will return the mandate to President Rumen Radev as unfulfilled,„, he announced and added that after what happened today, no one should have doubts about the dependencies between GERB, the MRF, TISP and „Vazrazhdane“.

This means that early parliamentary elections are imminent.
