Owners of restaurants and pubs are organizing a protest scheduled for January 27 under the title „March for Freedom“. They announced it after the National Operational Headquarters and Prime Minister Boyko Borissov did not provide clear information this morning under what conditions and when they will be able to open.

The Society of Restaurants want to resume their activities on February 1. Earlier today, the prime minister announced that the situation with the spread of the virus continues to be monitored until January 31, and that he can only compromise on the education system.

A few hours later, the Bulgarian Association of Restaurants (BAZ) and the Society of Restaurants (SZB) issued a press release stating that they were going to a national protest „March to Freedom“ on January 27 and called on all business representatives who had suffered from the restrictions and ban on working to support them.

The COVID pandemic in our country is being managed incorrectly, according to the Bulgarian Association of Restaurants and the Society of Restaurants. They claim that the state has taken away their right to work and livelihood.

We are facing the wall again, after months of being misled by misleading information. We remain the only closed business against the backdrop of crowds in other non-essential trade sectors! Our only desire was to work. Improper management of the pandemic and the state deprived us of the right to work and livelihood. Without stable and satisfactory ideas and solutions for our compensation. We observe that the closure is not temporary, but has become permanent. The closing price led to a decline in production and consumption. The consequences are job losses and bankrupt entrepreneurs. There is no other possible solution for us, except to declare our disagreement with this another injustice and discrimination against our business. „, the Society of restaurants added.
