„During each campaign, some things are said, the degree is raised in order to mobilize the electorate, and then, when it comes time to do work, pragmatically and with a view to the mythical common good, things start to become streamlined, subject to consensus by agreement.“, commented the post-election situation in front of“ BNR „the political scientist and lecturer at the New Bulgarian University Lyubomir Stefanov.
We have yet to find out whether the anti-GERB social section during the campaign is a sufficient condition for success, as a result of which you will join a coalition, or whether much more is needed, said Stefanov.
According to the him, the issue depends on the way the agreements are implemented. It is clear to all of us that the current practice of backstage games will not lead to anything new and most importantly – to nothing meaningful. The change that the citizens announced in their vote could only happen if politicians come out with clear positions and speak openly on microphones and in front of cameras.
The first indications that the new parliament will give are especially important, Stefanov believes. The attitude of the people towards the future rulers of the country depends on them. It remains to be seen whether we will hope that better times are coming, or whether we will again be left with the impression that we have been deceived once again.
The political scientist also pointed out that:
„New political players are not anti-systemic players because they accept all the results of the parliamentary elections, therefore they accept the rules of the game of political competition in liberal democracy. They unite on the principle – „To love stubbornly„.
Lyubomir Stefanov does not consider Slavi Trifonov’s silence as a sign of weakness. Rather, the leader of „There is such a people“ polical party needs time to get used to the new reality and the expectations with which people look at the party. It is interesting, the expert added, whether Mr. Trifonov realized this responsibility and what goes with it.“
Regarding the issue of new elections – it is unnecessary because they would further scare the citizens, Stefanov is adamant.
