The Chief State Health Inspector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Angel Kunchev assured that in our country the measures against COVID-19 will be tightened as late as possible and as softly as possible. His comment is on the occasion of another day with a record, this time in the number of deaths from coronavirus. In the last 24 hours alone, 23 people have lost the battle for their lives.

Kunchev stressed that there is an increase in the number of those infected throughout Europe and that measures are being tightened in almost all countries. He reiterated the fact that we must comply with the restrictions that are currently in place. According to him, however, this is not being done.

According to him, there are two major outbreaks in Europe at the moment. One is to the west and covers Spain, Great Britain, France and the Netherlands. The other has an even higher incidence and includes Poland, the Czech Republic and Ukraine. In this black statistic, Bulgaria is somewhere in the middle.

As for the large number of newly infected today – 587, Kunchev said he prefers to handle weekly data. But even if this high figure is due to patients later registered by small hospitals, it is still high. Even more worrying is the fact that the number of hospitalized is growing. To date, they are already over 1,200, and those in intensive care units are 65.

In front of „NOVA“, Kunchev assured that everything that is applied in other countries, including the most developed ones, is applied as treatment in our country. He gave the example of Donald Trump, who was treated with the same drugs, except for the antibody cocktail, which is not yet available. The doctors in Bulgaria rely on the drug „Remdesivir“ and various types of antibiotics, as well as other additional substances.
