Konstantin Bachiyski‘s idea for the development of Ravnets Air Base and its transformation into a duty-free zone with its own cargo airport has officially entered the government’s economic program, according to „Middle European Class“ /MEC/ political party.

During the negotiations for a coalition agreement, the participants united around the concept of „combining an existing airport with a duty-free zone“ in order to create conditions for the establishment of logistics and industrial hubs to give a competitive advantage to the region and country.

What I have seen as potential at Ravnets Airport and I have been working on in recent years for its realization has been accepted, both at the level of experts and at the level of managers. Moreover, the project meets the full support of the line ministries.„, said Konstantin Bachiyski.

According to the MP, what happened is proof that all his efforts dedicated to the development of the old air base were worth it, because the „Ravnets Airport model“ will be implemented by the government.

It is indicative of Ravnets’ perspective that in a short period of time President Rumen Radev, Prime Minister Kiril Petkov, as well as business representatives expressed their support for the airport.

As Konstantin Bachiyski did not receive any support from the municipal and state authorities during the previous administration, he moved the licensing procedure at the airport with a lot of efforts and personal funds. In this way he became one of the few Bulgarians who invested their funds in the development of a public site of strategic importance for the region.
