MP from „We Continue the Change“ political party Konstantin Bachiyski was adamant that the issue of the possible provision of military aid to Ukraine would be decided by Parliament. He stressed that he was not sure that the Bulgarian army had any weapons that, if provided to a third country, would not reduce its defensive capability.

Bachiyski commented that there are many things in this regard that need to be clarified. All this will happen in plenary. But „We continue to change“ was the balancer in the ruling coalition, so a Coalition Council decision would be made that each of the four formations would support.

The MP explained that it started from two radically opposite positions, namely those of the BSP and „Democratic Bulgaria“ /DB/. However, over time, we are witnessing convergence on this issue. Bachiyski pointed out that he would not say that a compromise is being made, but according to him the devil was in the details, namely what Bulgaria could do. It was important to them how such a decision would affect the country’s security.
