After these elections, we will have to govern, there is an energy and economic crisis, said Ivaylo Mirchev from „Democratic Bulgaria“ /DB/. He is adamant that what needs to be done after the election is a coalition government with really clear principles and responsibilities, without any floating majorities. Mirchev reminded of the great rise in the price of natural gas during the year and pointed out that compensation for those affected should be considered. The MP from DB commented to „Darik Radio“:

These are realities that we have to deal with. We can only deal with this if there is a working parliament and only if there is a working government. There are many other challenges, but the economic, energy, health crisis is a perfect storm that we have to go through.”

Whether „Democratic Bulgaria“ will support a particular presidential candidate or nominate its own is a decision to be made by the coalition’s collective bodies in the coming days. Mirchev added:

We don’t have one person driving around in a jeep and all the journalists know that whatever he says is. We don’t have a person standing on a couch and everyone knows that the person on the couch is talking to two people. others in the National Assembly and through them sends messages. We have three parties in Democratic Bulgaria, they have collective bodies that really make decisions. I hope that next week or in the next 10 days „Democratic Bulgaria“ will come up with a decision that will be announced by one of the two co-chairs – Hristo Ivanov or Atanas Atanasov.“

The DB MP pointed out that the priority for the union is a strong parliamentary representation after the November vote. According to him, the 46th National Assembly failed to nominate a government due to the approach of „There is such a people“. He commented:

They showed us a list of people without us knowing them and asked us to vote for it. This is not how it works. A coalition agreement is in place.“

Mirchev stressed that for the project of the former ministers in the caretaker government Kiril Petkov and Asen Vassilev he expects to see a government program before there are talks for future cooperation. He stressed that the invitation for a pre-election coalition was extended to them because of the real chance for the two formations to fight together for the first place in the upcoming vote. Mirchev also emphasized the attitude of Petkov and Vassilev towards GERB and MRF and added:

Democratic Bulgaria“ in this respect is very firm, including for some may sound a bit radical, but we have been fighting for years against the GERB-MRF model. And I am very sorry, but I do not believe that if tomorrow Boyko Borissov comes out and says: „Excuse me, sorry“, he will change. His cats will not change, his dependencies will not change, the corruption circles around GERB will not change. We do not believe that as long as Boyko Borissov is the head of GERB, there can be any change at all. And from this point of view, we accept with relative concern the possibility and the statement we heard today from „We continue the change“ that they allow joint management work with GERB and MRF. And we will want to clear up this topic very firmly in the upcoming talks.“
