Citizens and local members of the public spoke out against holding of “Burgas Pride” in the seaside town. Yordanka Lazarinova, Boyan Dyakov and Valeri Angelov organized a protest march against the „Pride“ under the title „Let’s preserve the traditional Bulgarian family“. They called on citizens of Burgas to get involved to show their responsible civil position.

We are not against the differences, but we are against the aggressive demonstration of this difference and its imposition, especially in front of children and young people.„, said the organizers.

According to them, the imposition of sexual orientation in a way and with means characteristic of the so-called „Pride“ enters unacceptably into the personal sphere of all others who do not share the goals and ideas of the organizer.

We oppose the holding of „Burgas Pride“ and advocate for ideas that protect and express support for the traditional Bulgarian family.“, said the organizers.

The car march will take place on May 15 (Saturday) from 11:00 to 12:00 along the following route: „Boycho Branzov“ Sports Hall – Stefan Stambolov Blvd. – San Stefano St. – Hristo Botev Blvd. – Bulair Str. – Demokratsiya Blvd. – Stefan Stambolov Blvd. – “Boycho Branzov” Sports Hall.

The NFSB also came out with its position, in which it categorically condemned the holding of such a parade and expressed its indignation at the decision of Mayor Dimitar Nikolov with its inaction to allow the holding of „Burgas Pride“ on “Troykata Square”.

Here is the full text of the position of NFSB political party in Burgas:

We are outraged by the decision of the mayor of the municipality of Burgas with his inaction to allow the „Burgas Pride“ to be held on May 15 on “Troykata” Square.

The so-called „Pride“ is supposedly proclaimed as an event for equal rights, tolerance and freedom. But: since 1991 in Art. 6 of the Constitution of the Republic of Bulgaria states that all people are born free and equal in dignity and rights, and that all citizens are equal before the law, without any restrictions on rights or privileges based on race, nationality, ethnicity. , gender, origin, religion, education, beliefs, political affiliation, personal and social status or property status. Therefore – all Bulgarian citizens, regardless of their sexual orientation, are equal before the law, and this constitutional principle has been consistently implemented in the legislation – the Law on Protection against Discrimination, the Law on Equal Opportunities for Men and Women and etc.

Special treatment on the grounds of sexual orientation or other grounds would constitute a privilege contrary to the cited imperative constitutional norm and is, in essence, a reverse discrimination in which the majority is discriminated against at the expense of the minority. Those behind the organization of the so-called „Pride“ aim to convince Bulgarian citizens that such privileges are permissible and lawful. Such suggestions favor the spread in Bulgarian society of the ideas of gay marriage, the adoption of children by same-sex couples – postulates that are foreign to our traditions, Christian values, family.

According to Art. 12, para. 2 of the Law on Assemblies, Rallies and Demonstrations the mayor of the municipality may prohibit the holding of the meeting, rally or demonstration, when there are undoubted data that they endanger the public order in the respective settlement and / or violate the rights and freedoms of other citizens.

However, the mayor of the municipality of Burgas did not exercise this power granted to him by law. He neither refused to issue a permit for holding „Burgas Pride“, nor did he redirect the event to be held outside the central part of the city. Thus, in the event of escalation of social tensions, the mayor will be the one to bear responsibility for the consequences he could have prevented in time.

We oppose the holding of “Burgas Pride” and the ideas it defends, and we express our support for the traditional Bulgarian family and values.
