The candidate for new president of the Bulgarian Football Union and former president of the football team „Maritsa Plovdiv“ – Hristo Hristov said that he gave money to a member of the Executive Committee to manipulate the result of a match.

This happened 2 years ago. According to Hristov, the person in question is still part of the Executive Committee of the Bulgarian Football Union (BFU).

Hristov said he would give details if requested by law enforcement or during Congress. He did not report because it was a relationship between him and the other person. They met by chance two weeks before the event and realized that if necessary, the latter could assist.

Hristov commented that the result of the game was not expected of him. For this reason, his money was returned. He is also the only one who has announced his candidacy at the moment. The other stated that he wanted to manage the plant was Emil Kostadinov.

The congress, which will elect a new president, will take place on December 11th. Until that date, the government will be in the hands of Mikhail Kasabov, who took office at the end of last year. This happened after Borislav Mihailov resigned.

Hristov also took a stand on the decision of BFU “Sportist” Svoge to enter the second league next season, instead of “Maritsa”. The team from Plovdiv finished in the 3rd place of their group, and the other team in the 4th.

He explained that he had not been offered and had not asked for money to join Group B. Describe things as correct. They received an invitation and gave an answer. According to him, the thing that can be done is to send a signal to the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), as the options in the country are limited.
