The Prime Minister Boyko Borissov has instructed the Minister of Health Prof. Kostadin Angelov to prepare a plan for vaccination of Bulgarian citizens. This happened at a meeting with the Prime Minister. This plan will cover the risk groups of the population and will enter into force when our country already has the approved vaccines, the government information service announced.

Borissov stressed that Bulgaria will have all available types of vaccines. Of course, this will happen with the money of the Bulgarian taxpayers.

The Minister of Health, for his part, assured that the necessary organization has been created for citizens who wish to be vaccinated.

Angelov also reported that within the hospital market there is logistics to provide additional quantities of drugs for the treatment of coronavirus, as well as the possibility of moving drugs from one hospital to another. The Minister of Health added:

“We do not have a shortage at the national level of the medicinal products designated for the disease, at the moment we have created an organization for import of additional quantities of the necessary preparations on the territory of Bulgaria.”

This statement comes against the backdrop of a number of signals that pharmacies lack drugs to treat COVID-19. There is also an acute shortage of important medicines for pregnant women.

The Prime Minister Boyko Borissov stressed the key importance of the observance of the anti-epidemic measures by every Bulgarian, because this helped in the fight against the coronavirus.

„Europe as a whole suffers, but I am convinced that the measures we have must be respected. Therefore – if it is not necessary, do not gather in large groups”, said the Prime Minister.

He was adamant that if the economy goes well next year, the employees of the Ministry of Interior will be compensated additionally. Minister Ananiev added that for the planned 15% increase in their salaries from January 1, the necessary resources are provided by the restructuring of expenditures and transfers to the central budget.

The Prime Minister pointed out that in no case should some social groups oppose others.

His comment comes against the backdrop of GERB’s proposal not to give child allowances for each child next year, although this is set in the draft budget. The money would go to increase the salaries of police and doctors on the front line. In this way, it is the rulers who oppose one social group to another. This led to a very sharp reaction from law enforcement officers, who were adamant that they would hold GERB accountable for their actions. The IMRO also came up with a position on the issue, announcing that every child should receive state aid.
