Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and President Rumen Radev entered into a dialogue in absentia over the recordings from the prime minister’s bedroom. Today, during another inspection of the Hemus highway, Borissov blamed the head of state’s team for them. The lady had gone and snapped the photos and recordings in his absence. Borissov even announced that he was „cooked“ by them. And they had studied the situation very well and had been preparing for that moment for years. However, Borissov does not speak in essence about the content of the photos and recordings themselves – neither about the money, nor about the gold bars, nor about the pistol.

In response, President Rumen Radev announced the following:

“I don’t see any sense in pushing us in a play in which the dialogue is indulgence and forgiveness – for lockers, for a way of vicious management, for corruption, for records. People with full lockers can’t invite those with empty lockers for dialogue.

He was adamant that in order to have talks, the truth about all the corruption schemes that have happened and continue to happen in Bulgaria must be revealed, because otherwise the vicious model will continue.

Borissov, for his part, also commented that GERB suited him the most expert cabinet:

“It suits me the most because I will be able to work for the party, not to move every day on socio-economic, financial and all sorts of topics. We have done the important things for Bulgaria in this term – a double increase in teachers’ salaries, yesterday only 60 million for higher education institutions, zero migration, which everyone forgets, a leading role in the region, including in the conflict in the Mediterranean. One day we will see how much we have helped to have a meeting in Istanbul between Greece and Turkey, the entry into the Eurozone, the banking union.”

At the same time, however, Borissov again made a request that the government would not resign and would serve until the next parliamentary elections next year. He continues to defend this position and the government not to listen to the voice of the thousands of Bulgarian citizens who go to the squares every night with a request for the cabinet and the chief prosecutor to step down and hold early elections.

Borissov also commented on the parties that are against him and that support civil discontent, saying that he knew them. These were formations that were now looking to increase their votes in view of the forthcoming vote. But elections could not be held just because they wanted to. There were two elections last year, and in a few months there would be regular elections again.

Without listing specific names, Borissov said:

“Some were my deputy prime ministers, others were my ministers, others were in my team, I know their qualities”.

As for the police guarding the protests, he said they were only ordered to guard the people.
