Prime Minister Boyko Borisov said the quarantine is not a game of hide and seek, to outwit anyone else! This was announced on the grounds of violations committed by people in isolation. He stressed that the problem is the warm weekends that cause Bulgarians to go for a walk. Something that has become clear over the last two days.

Today, the Prime Minister inspects the Turkish border at the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing. He thanked President Recep Erdogan and the ambassador for passing the TIRs. Borisov was adamant that this artery of the European Union should work.

He met with a Turkish border official who assured him that the trucks would continue to cross. Borisov, for his part, said he had come to keep the carriers calm and assured that there was certainty that the goods would be delivered.

“God forbid this pandemic is coming soon”, the prime minister announced.

He was adamant that the problem had already been resolved. He stressed that he was responsible for the Bulgarian trucks. He also said that there is a possibility that the goods from other countries of the European Union will be transhipped to Bulgarian TIRs and thus move to Turkey.

Borisov also commented on the rubbish left behind by drivers, saying that the tiradzhi should be asked to clean themselves. From his words it became clear that there were clear instructions to them, and then they were disinfected.

It is clear from the Turkish side that hundreds of trucks pass through the station every day.

As for the new measure under consideration by the National Operational Headquarters, namely to have declarations within cities, Borisov believes that all citizens are disciplined, with the exception of journalists who cluster.

Asked if TIRs at the old Haskovo airport are a risk for the city’s residents, he replied

“There is no risk. The only risk for Bulgaria is the Bulgarian Socialist Party!”
