The tests intended for Bansko are expected to arrive on Monday or Tuesday and people will be tested immediately afterwards. This was stated by Gen. Prof. Ventsislav Mutafchyiski, Chairman of the National Operationал Headquarters, during a briefing at the Council of Ministers.

„When the tests arrive in Bansko, people will be tested immediately. For now, we have the company’s assurances that they will arrive on Monday or Tuesday. This will give us time to make an accurate and clear plan of where people will be tested, because the people themselves in Bansko and the Regional Health Inspection (RHI) were surprised by the information we gave them about the number of hotels and establishments visited by citizens having tested positive for coronavirus. Their number is extremely high. We are currently making this clarification in the RHI on exactly which contingents will be covered, and who will be tested randomly or compulsorily. „

Gen. Prof. Ventsislav Mutafchyiski added that there were no data on newly registered cases in Bansko over the last 24 hours .

During the briefing it became clear that our country does not export protective clothing because it has not yet saturated the domestic market.

„Bulgaria does not export protective clothing because it has not yet saturated its market, especially the units that are really on the front line with coronavirus infected. These are namely the hospital wards where the medical staff works every day. They are still low in patients. Regardless of the number of patients, the medical teams are the same. We need time to be able to produce enough protective clothing. “

„The reduction of newly registered cases of coronavirus can only be interpreted in one way. The very first analysis from China shows that over two weeks before the epidemic takes action, the number of infected is reduced by over 70%. The reduction of new cases is a result from the measures taken in a timely manner. The fact that the streets in our country are full of police officers, who oversee the compliance with the measures, will in some way give us a good result. “

„People who experience symptoms of the disease, first-order contact persons and staff dealing with the infected patients as well as risk groups are being tested.“

„There are enough beds in the intensive care units that are prepared for patients infected with coronavirus. They are single ones and are separated from the rest of the beds in the intensive care units of the hospitals. Currently, there are fewer patients with other diseases than in previous months, and the mortality rate is also lower. There is a reduction in morbidity. We keep monitoring. Тhis year’s mortality is over 10% lower than last year. „

Methylated spirits is availabale everywhere, the expert says. He recalled that more than 100 tonnes of spirits were released from the State Reserve, and more than 150 tonnes from the National Customs Agency. According to him, there are disinfectants in every pharmacy or shop.

Krasimir Bozhanov, Director of Directorate „Administrative Modernization“ presented a government an informational portal on the coronavirus, which starts working today. It gathers all the information and documents needed by the public regarding COVID-19.
