Arrests for the construction of the Hemus highway. Actions took place late last night in several different cities in the country. They were related to abuses in the construction of the highway.
A total of 10 people were detained, four of them from Blagoevgrad. He is also a manager of a construction company, a partner in one, an accountant and another employee.
It will become clear today whether they will be charged or released.
17 addresses were subject to inspections. Interrogations were also conducted in the case. Seven of them were in the offices of a large construction company.
A few days ago, the acting Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Violeta Komitova and of the Interior Boyko Rashkov revealed that drastic violations had been committed during the construction of the Hemus highway. Employees of the National Revenue Agency and the Ministry of Interior entered the Road Infrastructure Agency in the same case.
Komitova explained that the worst situation is on sections 7, 8 and 9, which do not have a building permit at all. In addition, no geological or geodetic surveys were carried out. So the route now turns out to have to be moved.
From her words it became clear that it is not even known who are the companies that are building the Hemus highway. Then she said on the matter:
„Furthermore, as construction progresses over time, it is not known how the companies to which they are given will survive and protect themselves from bankruptcy. We believe that this money is at enormous risk and there was no urgency to distribute it in 2020. We also found other violations, such as illegal sections and constructions. We went and took pictures. For example, we have a site with serious construction for many millions, but it is without a permit. We expect the company to come, but it is not showing.“
From Rashkov’s words it became clear that the Ministry of Interior will deal with the case.
